Boosting Employee Engagement

The Challenge

The client is a recognized leader in digital publishing services, catering to publishers, academic institutions, and the research community. Their core value proposition lies in delivering cutting-edge technology and advanced content rendering solutions that enable seamless digital experiences across platforms. Their challenges included:
-
Employee apathy leading to significant headwinds for employee experience, especially at junior levels.
-
Managers remaining task oriented due to the enormous pressure of daily client delivery.
-
Misaligned KPIs driving wrong employee behaviour resulting in work done but not deliverable to clients.
The Approach
In order to boost employee experience, we took a critical thinking approach:
-
Employee Engagement Survey:
Leveraged wisdom of the crowd through a customised employee engagement survey and collected inputs from about 75% of the employees.
-
Key arguments:
Through empathy sessions, we spoke to a cross section of employees across all levels to nail down the real problems that hinder teams to function as a high-performing team.
-
Retrograde Analysis:
A series of hypotheses were developed which was then validated by internal champions with over 200+ employees voicing their inputs on the prioritization and impact of the hypotheses. Post-validation, the champions were empowered to take actions and ensure all managers enhance employee experience.
